This Dining Experience is a Dream Come True for Every Star Wars Fan

Feast on intergalactic food and cocktails while listening to live music!

Star Wars fans, rejoice!

To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars, executive chef and owner of Privatus, AJ Reyes, has collaborated with Plato PH. Feast on intergalactic food and cocktails – imagine glowing drinks and dishes which the characters of the franchise would eat – while listening to live music. It will be set in the Mos Eisley Cantina (a fictional bar in the Star Wars universe) with no dangerous aliens in sight. Socialize the night away with fellow Star Wars geeks and indulge on these unusual dishes.

The degustation starts with the Death Asado which is a bit standoffish given its dark color. Shredded spicy asado is tucked inside warm and fluffy squid ink buns. Sarlacc who is a multi-tentacled alien beast in the franchise makes an appearance as well in a dish that's surprisingly a personal favorite. Octopus is perfectly grilled still leaving it tender topped with bacon breadcrumbs to add texture sitting on top of freshly whipped garlic mayo.

Aunt Beru's Grits is a combination of three different kinds of texture of corn – crispy corn, smoked corn and creamed corn. The dish takes inspiration from Beru Whitesun Lars who was married to Owen Lars and raised Luke Skywalker in a moisture farm. The bite-sized Ewok Sushi is too adorable to devour but it is highly addictive to pop after another. Perfectly cooked wagyu wrapped in Japanese rice and designed with nori sheets so it would look like ewoks. Wittily called Thai Fighter Rolls, Chef AJ Reyes took inspiration from TIE Fighter which is a standard vehicle mostly seen in the Galactic Civil War. These are spring rolls with crisp wanton chips you can use to hold the rolls and actually acts as the solar array wing.

Ever wanted to try blue milk? Also known as Bantha milk, it's a rich blue-colored milk produced by female banthas. Well, there are no banthas in Manila so they've added blue curacao in milk instead. It is served with a galaxy-designed crumbly chocolate chip cookies which you can dunk in the milk.

To keep the conversation interesting, there are Light Saber Popsicle passed around which are vodka-based popsicle sticks available in popular light saber colors. In addition, there are only two available cocktails for the Star Wars social night, but it's really all you'll need. The Kylo Ren Cosmopolitan, a mixture of vodka and cranberry and the Yoda Soda which is the classic gin tonic that's served in an extraordinary way.

The "May The Fork: A Star Wars Social Night" dinner events will be open to the public on May 13, 20 and 27 from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in Privatus Dining #8F. Legaspi Street, Barangay Maybunga, Pasig. Visit their website to book a one-of-a-kind Star Wars experience.
