Love fried chicken? Then this joint at the food court of Uptown Place Mall is a must visit. Birdhouse opens to the public tomorrow, September 1.
This local food concept is the latest venture of Relish Group, the food folks behind and who brought in Wee Nam Kee, Osaka Ohsho, Kumori, and Rock & Seoul Bibimbap Bar. Here's a peek at their jazzed up takes on the fried chicken.
Your fried chicken fix doesn't have to be expensive -- they have set meals called 'barnyard' that are under P200, like the Barnyard A (Birdhouse Chicken Tenders + Dirty Rice + Sauce + Crispy Chicken Skin) and Barnyard B (One Piece Chicken + Side + Sauce + Crispy Chicken Skin), where you can combine a sauce and a side of your choice.
Hungrier tummies can order the Barnyard C (One Piece Chicken + 2 Sides + Sauce + Crispy Chicken Skin) or the Barnyard D (Two Pieces Chicken + Side + Sauce + Crispy Chicken Skin). While the fried chicken at Birdhouse is crispy and juicy, the array of sauces make them stand out even more -- you can choose from five: peach bbq, green goddess, truffle ketchup, garlic ranch, and milk gravy; you can get extra sauce for P30. Sides (P50 each) include coleslaw, garlic fries, elote corn, dirty rice, and mac and cheese.
Crispy fried chicken sandwiches are becoming more popular than before, and Birdhouse serves up their own version with a very mouthwatering twist. Get the Barnyard E (Salted Egg Lava Chicken Sandwich + Side) and sink your teeth into their black burger buns that sandwich a fried chicken patty with a salted egg filling in the center. The Salted Egg Lava Chicken Sandwich can also be ordered solo (P250 ala carte). Dessert here also has some chicken love: Waffle and Ice Cream with Crispy Chicken Skin (P150). The a la mode treat is given a crunchy spin with the bits of chicken skin crumbles as toppings.
Birdhouse opens on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at The Food Hall, 4th level of Uptown Place Mall, BGC. Follow Birdhouse on Facebook and Instagram (birdhouseph).
