Cucina Rusticana is all about casual Rustic Italian dining set in the business district of Makati City. Originally conceptualized way back in 1986, Cucina Rusticana first opened its doors on the 15th of February, 2012 on a dry run stage.
What is ‘Rustic’ you ask? Rustic is just “like Mamma used to make”. This is country style cooking the Italian way.
Our recipes have been perfected by Signora Mary Pastori and Nonna Rosa Viel (Grand Mother Rosa Viel). Recipes influenced both by the northern and southern provinces, perfected through the years and passed on to the family. These secrets have been kept under lock and key until Chef John Joseph Viel, a graduate of De La Salle-College of St. Benilde and trained in the culinary arts of ISCAHM organized by the Italian Embassy, came of age to unlock the chest and share the beauty that was inside.
Most of our pasta is handmade at home or imported from Italy. Nothing is compromised and pressured. For this reason, Cucina Rusticana will be introducing the “By Reservation Dining” menu. This is where we encourage our guests to study our BRD menu, decide on what they want, give us a call at least one day in advance with their selections and we will do the rest. What is the reason behind this? We want guests to sample and enjoy the authenticity of our dishes with the highest standards of preparation and cooking possible as Italians consider cooking an art, where the most delicious of dishes requires quality cooking time and cannot be rushed.
And of course, our doors are always open to those who have an immediate desire for the euphoria that is Italian cuisine. We have a continually growing selection of dishes readily available to satisfy even the pickiest of cravings served by a doting wait staff.
