Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival 15
Date: August 2-11
Venue: Various CCP venues
Tickets: P200 regular/P150 student

Now on its 15th year, Cinemalaya once again offers 10 promising full-length and short films from independent movie makers competing for the festival's awards. To celebrate its 15th year, the films will also be shown in a number of cinemas in the Philippines! LIKI 4.0: The Fourth Anthology of Works

Mindanao's foremost contemporary dance-theater group, Teatro Ambahanon brings a curated show full their production to CCP. Mabining Mandirigma: A Steampunk Musical

Written by Dr. Nicanor Tiongson, this musical is a retelling of the life and times of the legal and diplomatic heroism of Apolinario Mabini in a steampunk setting. The science fiction subgenre of aesthetic technology from 19th century industrial steam-powered machinespromises to be an exciting backdrop to our own Philippine history. Bayanihan @ 63 – Creative Imagination
Date: August 15-16, 8PM; August 17, 3PM & 8PM

A season concert of the Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company, this production promises an intimate fusion of the old and new folkways of the Philippines. 11th Halina't Umawit: A Philippine Children's Choir Festival

Hail Mary The Queen Children's Choir with the Cantemus Children's Choir from Hungary will perform for the 11th children's choir festival with musical directors Jude Roldan and Maria Theresa Vizconde. There will also be a featured performance from the Ateneo Chamber Singers under the baton of international choral jurist Jonathan Velasco. Secure your tickets now through Ticketworld.

 

Koryolab

This year's Koryolab features works from five young choreographers, Buboy Raquitico, Christopher Chan, Dingdong Selga, Michael Que, and Sarah Samaniego. Kabataang Gitarista 7th Anniversary Recital

Enjoy performances of solo classical and ensemble pieces of Filipino and popular works in a recital by the Kabataang Gitarista, a classical guitar ensemble of public highschool students in Manila, Pasay, and Parañaque, with a feature performance from the Kabataang Gitarista Bicol branch. Ballet Philippines' Swan Lake

Now on its 50th season, Ballet Philippines performs the iconic classical ballet 'Swan Lake.' In celebration of their 50 years, there are new sets by Toto Sicangco and additional costume designs by Michael Cinco. It features Mariinsky Theater (Kirov Ballet) stars Elena Evseeva and Andrey Ermakov as well as homegrown talents in two evening performances. Get your tickets now at the Ticketworld website.
