An Energized Gathering Of Art Groups In The Gateway Art Fair

Organized by the Gateway Gallery of the J. Amado Araneta Foundation, the 3-day event aims to be a platform and support to local artists, their art groups, and host communities by showcasing their talents and art.

On October 7, 8, and 9, 2022, Gateway Mall will be hosting the Gateway Art Fair, an art festival that celebrates the beauty of art crafted by the members of the local communities. At the Gateway Art Fair, 11 art groups from Metro Manila and nearby provinces gather to showcase the best of their talents. The exhibits will be aptly complemented by shops selling art and creative products and services. During the three-day event, which coincides with Museums and Galleries Month, artist demonstrations will also take center stage to showcase the latest in art today.

Organized by the Gateway Gallery of the J. Amado Araneta Foundation, the 3-day event aims to be a platform and support to local artists, their art groups, and host communities by showcasing their talents and art. It will also connect the artists to their patrons through unique and meaningful art on this side of Quezon City.  Serving as the flagship art festival or event of Araneta City, it will attract a market of art lovers in the Araneta City, making it a complete lifestyle destination.

The Gateway Art Fairā€™s theme is Jump-start, a call for artists to regroup and re-activate after the pandemic.  The event will open formally with a ceremonial ribbon cutting on October 7, Friday, at 4 p.m.. Artists and their networks will be in attendance, in full celebration of a coming together of like-minded creatives coming from various backgrounds and communities. Leading the pack of participating artists are Noli Bueza, Julius Legaspi, Grandier Gil Bella, Jenny Cortes, Carlos Francisco II, Cris Cleofas, Leandro Concepcion, Elaine Clemente, Nina Libatique, and many more.

The eleven participating art groups include Pahiyas Art Group, Philippine Pastel Artists, Inc., MakiSining Art Group, Law of Art-traction, KaSiBulan (Kababaihan sa Sining at Bagong Sibol na Kamalayan), Female Art Addicts, Daloy Likha, Angono Collective, Freedom Art Society, Animo Replica, and Alpha Camera Club. The art groups come from various localities and carry with them their advocacies. Philippine Pastel Artists, Inc. for example promotes the use of the pastel medium; KaSiBulan recognizes, empowers, and conveys the expression of Filipino women artists that is grounded on the countryā€™s people, culture, and history; and MakiSining creates a network of fellow artists and cultural workers in and around Mount Makiling to empower their art practice in the service of society. These art groups represent cities of NCR such as Pasig and Valenzuela and nearby provinces of Rizal, Quezon, and Laguna.

The three-day art fair will be further energized by daily art demonstrations by some of the most exciting Filipino artists today. The art demos will happen in the afternoon and evening, all open and free to the public. This is the schedule of the artist demos during the Gateway Art Fair:
