See a snippet of the musical's classic number, Do-Re-Mi, which features Maria and the Von Trapp kids:

The Sound of Music is based from the true story of the Von Trapp singers, telling the story of Maria Rainer, a postulant who is given the task to take care of seven motherless children. During the course of her stay with the Von Trapp children, she gradually wins the hearts of the children and their father, Captain Von Trapp.
