New images for the upcoming Joker film by Todd Phillips have been revealed by Warner Bros., and it features a three-step transformation of failed comedian Arthur Fleck into becoming the madman of Gotham.

The three photos show the insanity engulfing Fleck, played by Joaquin Phoenix, from a mentally disturbed bus passenger to a clown who had totally lost it, or rather, who had gathered himself together in the worst possible way.
The film explores the origins of the popular Batman villain, the Joker, and what factors might have caused a person to be such a criminally insane individual. The film promises a darker and more psychological take on the character rather than resorting to the famous Joker lore in the comics and earlier films.
The film directed by Todd Phillips also stars Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, and Frances Conroy. Joker will hit theaters on October 3 this year.
