Google’s new Street View app lets you upload your own images

Google reveals a new Street View app which makes it more interactive for its users.

Google reveals a new Street View app which makes it more interactive for its users.

The new app that replaced Google's Photo Sphere Camera app allows you to view 360-degree photos of different locations in Google Maps and you can also shoot and share your own for others to see.

"Now you can publish photo spheres of your favorite places from around the world (or around the block!) to Google Maps instantly," according to Charles Armstrong, Product Manager at Google Maps on a post.

After you've shot your 360-degree photos, it is up to you to keep them private or share them to Google Maps. Google will then review the submitted photos to ensure the images are actual places and not photos of other people.

Moreover, since the photos you took is still up for approval, it can't be viewed right away by the public but you can still see them from the app's profile section.

The Street View app will replace the Photo Sphere Camera app for iPhones and the Street View from Google Maps app on Android phones. It is available for download for iOS and Android.
