Freshly baked meat pies, hotdogs, and other classic Aussie tucker find its way to the country by way of Sydney's iconic cafe on wheels, Harry's.
Harry's Cafe de Wheels is a famous food cart known for its authentic Aussie tucker–think freshly baked meat pies, hotdogs, all day breakfast grub. It's simple and heartwarming food that Sydneysiders have loved since the 1940s, and now Harry's finds its way to the Philippines, with its third branch at S Maison opening end of 2016.
"It started out with my sister in law," Star Uy, Director of Harry's Cafe Philippines, shares. "She studied in University of Sydney, and when she saw Harry's, she saw that there were a lot of Asians going to the store right across her school. So she said, maybe the Philippines is ready for this, and she introduced it to my brother." Star traveled with her brother to Sydney several times, tested all the Harry's stores in Sydney, and liked what they experienced; in 2015 they decided to bring it home. The very first store quietly opened in Solenad 3, Nuvali in September 2015, while the first outlet in Manila last July in Uptown Mall BGC. The newest outpost is located at S Maison Mall of Conrad Manila. And it seems more people are growing to love meat pies and all the Aussie food they're offering, as there are plans to open more stores within 2017.
