CCP Workforce Shares Christmas Joy at The PGH Cancer Institute

To coincide with the center's 52nd year this 2021, the CCP workforce granted wishes of 52 cancer patients through the joint efforts of the officers and employees of all the departments and divisions.

At a time when celebrations are difficult due to the ongoing pandemic, the workforce of the Cultural Center of the Philippines opted to make its yearly Christmas program more meaningful by sharing with the cancer patients of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Cancer Institute recently.

Each year the Cancer Institute, led by its Director, Dr. Jorge Ignacio, puts up a Christmas tree at the Cancer Institute lobby where the cancer patients hang their Christmas wishes.Ā  The public can voluntarily choose 1 or more wishes to grant. This special project has been implemented for many years already and last year, the wishes in their tree were 100% granted for the first time by their generous donors and supporters.

To coincide with the center’s 52nd year this 2021, the CCP workforce granted wishes of 52 cancer patients through the joint efforts of the officers and employees of all the departments and divisions. The gifts were personally received by Dr. Jorge Ignacio. This Christmas sharing is only one of the many initiatives that the CCP continues to undertake for the less privileged and the marginalized sectors of the country through its Arts for Transformation and Outreach Programs and its COVID-19 Response Programs.

The PGH is a regular beneficiary of the CCP’s outreach programs such as the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) mini concert held last December 2020 at the PGH for the patients and frontliners.
