WATCH: Voices of the Dead Assist the Abducted in ‘The Black Phone’ Trailer

Here's a new horror flick from the director of 'Sinister' and 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose'!

Ethan Hawke transforms into a masked abductor in the first trailer for Blumhouse’s The Black Phone!

As the trailer teased, the film adds a supernatural twist to the gripping story of a kidnapping. Through an old, disconnected telephone, the abducted young boy can communicate with his kidnapper’s past victims, who try to assist him in his escape. Watch the trailer for The Black Phone below:

The film follows the shy but clever 13-year-old Finney Shaw, who is abducted by a sadistic murderer wearing a terrifying mask. Trapped in a soundproof basement, the boy finds hope in the most unimaginable way. The disconnected telephone on the wall begins to ring, and the voices of the killer’s past victims start to talk to him to help him get out of his abductor’s clutches.

Opposite Ethan Hawke is Mason Thames who plays Finney. The film is directed by Scott Derrickson, the writer-director of Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and Marvel’s Doctor Strange.

The Black Phone will be released in theaters on February 4, 2022.
