About the Event

Photography for Kids, a workshop specifically designed for young children from 6 to 11 years old, is the perfect opportunity for your kids to discover and develop their love for photography. Lectures will be done in a classroom setting, after which the kids can express themselves through a supervised photo shoot and photo clinic.

Topics that will be tackled during the workshop include:

  • DSLR vs. Point & Shoot
  • Parts of the Camera & its Uses
  • Framing & Composition
  • Rules in Photography, i.e. Rule of Thirds
  • Different genres & specialization in photography
  • Indoor vs. Outdoor shooting
  • Proper lighting
  • Different lenses & accessories used in photoshoots
  • Basic studio setup vs. on-location/outdoor setup.
  • Finding the light (main light, fill light, etc.)
  • Natural vs. artificial lighting
  • Creative concepts, styling & design

Participants are required to bring their own digital camera during the workshop.

The facilitator

Rosvic Castro has gone from being a physical therapist to assistant training director for medical transcription firms to being a fulltime mother of twins into being a fashion photographer, concept director, stylist and designer. She took Fashion Photography at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines Makati in 2013. She was featured as Photographer of the Week on the May 13, 2014 issue of Manila Bulletin’s picture perfect section, with a full article on her photography featuring the evolution of her works.

Her works have been featured on magazines such as Real Bride. She was an article writer for Fortune Herald’s Fashion Sense column. She is currently one of the official photographers for Mossimo Philippines through the Philippine Fashion Rules and my FameandFortune.com for their casting calls, lookbook shoots and model shoots.

The workshop fee is P 3,200.00 inclusive of handouts, materials, snacks, a certificate, 3 free admission to the museum and one day free access to the library.  The deadline for reservations is on April 24, 2015. A 10-percent discount will be given to those who will pay in full on or before the deadline. Early bird, Ayala Museum and AGC members can avail the discount.
