Experience an intensive music camp set in idyllic Baguio, for violin, viola, cello, winds, piano and guitar with the Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO) Music Academy faculty led by MSO music director-conductor Prof. Arturo Molina.
Following last year’s music camp in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, “Summer Out There: Baguio Edition: The Second MSO Summer Music Camp” will be held April 26- May 1 at the ICM House of Prayer, Recto Road, Baguio City. This is part of the 2016 Baguio Summer Music Festival that also includes concerts until July 2 this year.
The levels to be accepted are from beginner to advanced, ages eight years old upwards.The activities lined up are: classes in music theory, techniques courses, repertoire review and refinement, practice tips, masterclasses, individual lessons, daily recitals, ensemble, chamber music, orchestra class, public concerts and team-building activities.
The public concerts are scheduled on April 29 at 4 p.m. at the University of the Cordilleras Theater on Gov. Pack Road and MSO Junior Orchestra Gala Concert with pianist Hansel Ang as soloist on April 30 at 8 p.m. at Hill Station inside Casa Vallejo, Upper Session Road.
The camp fees are: P1,500 for Baguio residents (classes only ); P7,800 MSO Academy and Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra students; and P9,300 for regular students.
For those from out of Baguio, the fees cover training, transportation, food, accommodation, t-shirt, participation in the mini-recitals and community concerts.
The add-ons are: P1,000 for one-hour individual lesson and P600 for a 30-minute individual lesson.
Register now as slots for classes and accommodations are limited. Deadline for registration is on April 15. The academy is offering a 5% early bird discount to those who will register on or before April 1.
