About the Event

UP Vargas Museum, in cooperation with Tin-aw Art Gallery, opens Antipas Delotavo’s exhibition titled Agos on March 11, Friday, 4pm at the 1F West Wing Gallery of the Museum.

Agos explores the bloody battle of the Basi Revolt, focusing on the fierce skirmish between the Ilocano and the Spanish forces at the Bantaoay River. The exhibition, consisting of paintings, installation and a mural, becomes a critical reflection on the event as well as Delotavo’s interpretation of how different generations have lived through history.

Antipas Delotavo (b. 1954) received his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Music degree fromthe Philippine Women’s University. Delotavo has exhibited his works both locally and internationally. He has been conferred with such recognition as the Thirteen Artists grant in 1990, Garbo sa Bisaya of the Viva ExCon in 2012, and the Araw ng Maynila Patnubay ng Sining sa Pintura of the City of Manila in 2005.
