Finally, the Black Mirror creators are giving us their take on 2020, the year that people often referred to as one big Black Mirror episode.
The show’s creators Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones will be releasing a Netflix show titled Death to 2020. However, this may not be exactly what most Black Mirror fans would imagine, because Death to 2020 is a Netflix comedy special. Watch its trailer below:
Death to 2020 is a mockumentary that contains real-life footage from 2020, with fictitious experts and citizens giving their commentaries. As we’ve seen in its first trailer, Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Grant, and Lisa Kudrow are just some of the “experts” joining the show.
Black Mirror is a hit dystopian anthology series that often leans on the dark side of technology and its consequences. While the show gained its popularity from disturbing concepts, it seems comforting that its creators would turn to comedy at a time when we’re being troubled by a pandemic.
Death to 2020 arrives on Netflix this December 27. The show also stars Joe Keery, Kumail Nanjiani, Tracey Ullman, Samson Kayo, Leslie Jones, Diane Morgan, and Cristin Milioti.
