With most people still having second thoughts about going to the cinemas to watch movies, UPSTREAM has partnered up with GMOVIES to make movies more accessible to Filipino audience in the current time we’re in.
UPSTREAM is a Transactional Video on Demand platform created by and for Filipinos. The platform aims to showcase Filipino-made films alongside international ones as part of its objective of giving Filipino filmmakers space where they can share their works with a wider audience.
They have recently partnered up with the digital booking platform GMovies to introduce a new and affordable viewing experience for Filipinos wherever they are.
From November 14 to 27, UPSTREAM is giving you a chance to watch 14 movies for only 1 peso each! The lineup of films includes a mix of “trendy, campy, serious, and art house films” from Regal. Check it out below:
- Shake, Rattle and Roll 3
- Ang Babaeng Putik
- The Debutantes
- Woke Up Like This
- Bala at Lipstick
- Starzan: Shouting Star of the Jungle
- Daddy’s Little Darlings
- Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
- Inday Bote at ang Mahiwagang Bibe
- Sinungaling Mong Puso
- Bihagin: Bilibid Boys
By screening these films, UPSTREAM aims to bring back the sense of nostalgia of the pre-internet days “where movies aren’t highly targeted and calculated.” The platform also hopes that this can show Filipinos just how endless the possibilities of where Philippine cinema can go in the future.
The TVOD platform will also be the official platform for screening both QCinema and MMFF films.
