Comedian Jo Koy, best known for his quips about the Filipino-American experience, is taking Netflix to the Philippines in his next comedy special!
The special titled Jo Koy: In His Elements makes a global premiere on June 12. He made the announcement on social media through a short clip.
“This is a very special moment for me.” Jo Koy says, “This is the one special where I was like, I need to go back home, the Philippines. I need to show people where my mom is from.”
“Let’s show ’em how beautiful the country is. Let’s show ’em how beautiful the people are, and let’s just do a show.” he adds.
Koy will also be using this opportunity to shine the spotlight to other very talented Filipino-American performers. He will be welcoming on the stage the breakdancer Ronnie, Grammy-winning producer !llmind, singer/songwriter Inigo Pascual, and comedians Andrew Lopez, Joey Guila, and Andrew Orolfo.
