Gillian Anderson, popular for her role in 'X-Files' and now currently starring in Netflix original series 'Sex Education,' is reportedly set to portray Margaret Thatcher, Britain's first female Prime Minister.
Deadline and Daily Beast have recently shared that Netflix historical drama The Crown has casted Anderson for its fourth season, while its third season is still yet to be released this 2019. The award-winning series follows the political rivalries and romance of Queen Elizabeth II's reign and the events that shaped the second half of the 20th century.
With the actress' recently announced casting, a lot of people took to Twitter to express their excitement:

I’m sure Gillian Anderson will ace playing Margaret Thatcher but at the same time, Thatcher doesn’t deserve to be played by Gillian Anderson

I interviewed Gillian Anderson in 2007 and told her she’d make a great Maggie Thatcher (God knows what prompted me to say this). She replied, perhaps understandably not entirely thrilled: “You’re the second person to tell me that today!”
Well, it only took 12 years but… https://t.co/dqK2X6veuZ

It's going to be quite a while until we get to see Anderson as the 'Iron Lady' Margaret Thatcher in 'The Crown' since season 3 is still on its way to Netflix sometime this year, so in the meantime, enjoy repeated viewings of its first two seasons, or you can also stream 'Sex Education' and catch the actress play a 'shag therapist' (her own words) in the Netflix British comedy-drama.
