A few days ago, BBC released a 30-second teaser of what fans should expect from the drama. It shows Kit Harington’s Robert Catesby and Tom Cullen’s Guy Fawkes back-to-back while he delivers his plans of burning “the king and all his men to hell.”Ā

See the teaser here:Ā

GunpowderĀ will be telling the true story of the Gunpowder plot of 1605, a scheme to blow up the Parliament on November 5 and assassinate King James I to put back a Catholic as head-of-state. However, the plan didn’t push through as someone anonymous tipped the authorities who then busted Fawkes, along with his barrels and barrels of gunpowder.Ā

Written and directed by J Blakeson, the series stars Kit Harington (who’s a descendant of Robert Catesby, by the way!) and Tom Cullen along with Liv Taylor, Mark Gatiss, and Peter Mullan.Ā
