Hyun Bin at the APAN Awards

Crash Landing On You lead actor Hyun Bin won the daesang or top prize at the recently-concluded APAN awards. in his speech, he thanked his fans for supporting him in the drama. He also announced that he’ll be starring in a new film — Confidential Assignment — which will hopefully premiere this year.

The actor also thanked his co-star and girlfriend Son Ye Jin in his speech. This is his first public appearance after confirming their relationship. According to the translation from Korea Times, he said “I’m grateful to Son Ye-jin, whose Yoon Se-ri was the perfect partner for Ri Jung-hyuk. Thanks to her incredible acting, Ri was able to shine in the series.”

The White Tiger

Indian film The White Tiger launched on Netflix last January 22. The film, which is based on Aravind Ariga’s novel of the same name, is about Balram Halwai, who narrates the story of his rise from being a poor villager to becoming a successful entrepreneur in modern India.


Starring in this film are Adarsh Gourav, Rajkummar Rao, and Priyanka Chopra-Jones.

Fate: The Winx Saga

Another Netflix title which premiered over the weekend is Fate: The Winx Saga. The 6-part series is the re-imagination of the famous cartoon series The Winx Club and follows five fairies — Bloom, Stella, Musa, Terra, and Aisha — who are all attending Alfea. It’s there that they learn to work on their magic while navigating through love, rivalries, and the evil creatures lurking in their world.

It stars Abigail Cowen, Hanna van der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha, Eliot Salt, and Elisa Applebaum. Joining them are Sadie Soverall, Freddie Thorp, Danny Griffin, and more.

JoJo Siwa

After coming out through a TikTok video last week where she danced to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” JoJo Siwa took to Instagram Live her thoughts about coming out as part of the LGBTQ community last Saturday. The 17-year-old said that she has received so much love from people since coming out, and that she’s really happy that the world can now see this side of her life.

As for her label, JoJo Siwa said that her person was just going to be her person. “If that person happened to be a boy, then great. If that person happened to be a girl, great,” she added.

Dinagyang Festival

Because of the pandemic, Iloilo’s Dinagyang Festival was held online. The pre-recorded video production streamed globally and features seven Ati tribes who performed in the city’s seven districts. The Ati tribes performed in front of churches, old mansions, along the Iloilo River, showcasing the city’s landmarks.
