For all the Twilight Saga fans out there, here’s some good news! Twelve years after its final installment Breaking Dawn was published, author Stephenie Meyer announces that her next book, Midnight Sun, will be released this August 4.
“Iām happy to announce that Midnight Sun is finally (very close to) ready! And will be in bookstores on August 4th. I hope this announcement doesnāt seem ill-timed; I really considered delaying the release until the world was back to normal. However, 1) who knows when that will be? And 2) you guys have waited long enough. Much longer than long enough, actually,” stated Meyer on her website.
Meyer also made the announcement live on the show Good Morning America. Check it out below:
Midnight Sun brings readers back to the Forks, in the early days of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen’s romantic journey, but this time it will be told in the latter’s perspective.
The synopsis for the novel has also been revealed by the Hachette Book Group, mentioning that it draws inspiration from the classic myth of Hades and Persephone. Here’s a snippet from the synopsis:
“This unforgettable tale as told through Edwardās eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting beautiful, mysterious Bella is both the most intriguing and unnerving event he has experienced in his long life as a vampire. As we learn more fascinating details about Edwardās past and the complexity of his inner thoughts, we understand why this is the defining struggle of his life. How can he let himself fall in love with Bella when he knows that he is endangering her life?”
