Everything You Need To Know About The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro

On October 12, the new Redmi Note 8 Series by Xiaomi will be available to the Philippine market in all MI authorized stores and in Lazada. It includes 2 new innovative smartphones: the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro. 

What else can we expect from these 2 phones? 

Display

Redmi Note 8 is furnished with a 6.3" Dot Drop display with a 2.5D rounded rear glass polished design that can reach a 90% screen-to-body ratio.

Redmi Note 8 Pro is quite similar, having a little larger display of 6.53" FHD+ Dot Drop display with a fingerprint sensor on the bottom. It can reach for a 91.4% screen-to-body ratio. There is also the TÜV Rheinland display here too, which is a first in the Redmi Note Series. It consists of a Stable Wifi in-hand as well.

Both of them also have Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides of the phone for more protection. They are also resistant to dust and water.
 

Colors

For the Redmi Note 8, the available colors are Space Black (a classic), Neptune Blue and Moonlight White.

With the Redmi Note 8 Pro, the colors are Mineral Gray, Pearl White and Forest Green. As for the latter shade, it is yet to be announced when it will be available in the Philippines. Though it is predicted to be a best seller.

Camera

Now, these two phones may be game-changers. Being quad cameras, it has a lot of perks. 

For the Redmi Note 8, it's also bound to live up to its expectations. Having 48 MP ultra-high quality, it consists also a 1/2 inch sensor with f/1.79 aperture and 79.4° field of view. 

Then with its ultra-wide camera and 120° field of view, other features include 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor similar to the Pro. For selfies, it has a 13 MP camera with an  f/2.0 aperture. Under that same field, it can serve panoramic selfies if you want to include more friends in one shot!

The Redmi Note 8 Pro may just be very ideal for photographers and gamers. It's the first smartphone with ultra-high quality of 64 MP quad-camera in the country, making it very all-rounded. 

For those into taking night shots, this camera utilizes the 1.6μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel to gather more light. If you want wider shots, there is the 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 120° field of view. Other features would be a 2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor.

For those into taking selfies, expect more detailed photos with the 20MP front camera alongside face unlock and scene detection. After capturing these photos, it can also be printed for as tall as 3.26 meters! 

Both phones also have built-in AI technology. 

Battery

Redmi Note 8 consists of a 4,000 mAh battery, while the Redmi Note 8 Pro consists of a 4,500 mAh battery. These two can last for as long as two days. Both are also compatible with a Type C cord, with fast charging up to 18W.
 

Power/Storage

The Redmi Note 8 functions on the strong Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 665 chipset.

Then for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, it is running on the MediaTek Helio G90T processor powered up to 2.05GHz for a long-lasting experience. For the gamers' pleasure, there is the new presence of LiquidCool technology so playing wouldn't become troublesome nor discomforting.

Both can have storage as high as 128GB.
