The Pokémon Company (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara) is pleased to share the following news about the Nintendo Switch software title Pokémon Legends: Arceus!
1. Face down frenzied Pokémon nobles!
Among the different types of special Pokémon in Hisui, Pokémon that hold power far beyond what regular Pokémon possess are known as lords and ladies. These Pokémon nobles are revered by the people of the region. But some strange phenomenon is now causing them to suddenly fly into a frenzy. The cause of these incidents is still shrouded in mystery. Once frenzied, these Pokémon are incredibly difficult to rein in, which forces the people of Hisui to turn to the Galaxy Expedition Team for help. As part of the Survey Corps, you will be called upon to quell the frenzies of the nobles.
How to quell the frenzied Pokémon
Simply defeating them in a Pokémon battle will not calm them. To quell them, you will have to hit them with balms made from these noble Pokémon’s favorite foods. Make good use of your skills in and out of battle to quell the frenzied Pokémon!
Dodge attacks and throw balms!
The nobles will relentlessly unleash powerful attacks at you, so you’ll need to learn how the nobles move, gauge the timings of their attacks, and dodge effectively as you wait for an opening. The moment you see an opportunity, hit them with as many balms as you can! Just like with throwing a Poké Ball, your balms will fly truer if you aim carefully before you throw.
Use Pokémon battles to your advantage!
The moment they’re vulnerable, take advantage by initiating a Pokémon battle! Throw a Poké Ball containing one of your Pokémon to begin a battle. While nobles are formidable opponents, defeating them in battle will cause them to be temporarily dazed, making it easier for you to hit them with more balms and gain the upper hand! Your reflexes as well as your skills in Pokémon battles will be tested when engaging these lord and lady Pokémon!

Special minerals found in the Hisui region cause Scyther to evolve into this Pokémon. Parts of its body have hardened into stone. The stone parts often get chipped during fierce battles, and Kleavor that have survived many battles will display larger chipping across their bodies. However, the chipping actually makes these stone parts sharper, increasing their slicing power. It is said that the people of Hisui once used pieces of stone that had fallen from Kleavor to craft tools.
2.The wardens who serve the special Pokémon
The people of the Hisui region hold a great respect for these special, blessed Pokémon and treasure them. Wardens are the ones who are tasked with looking after these Pokémon. The wardens are expected to protect the special Pokémon—such as by making sure their territories remain unviolated or by providing offerings of food and water at times.
This is the first warden you’ll encounter on your adventure. She is in charge of caring for a special Wyrdeer that can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands. She and her partner, Munchlax, grew up together as if they were siblings.
This warden cares for Kleavor, the lord of the Obsidian Fieldlands. Though young, he has been given the role of warden because he has proven himself to be very talented. He considers Kleavor to be both powerful and very cool-looking, and he holds it in high regard.
This warden lives by the sea and cares for a special Basculegion that makes its home in the area. Though shy and introverted, he is a kindhearted man. He can be a bit easy to frighten, however, and isn’t too fond of Ghost-type Pokémon.
This warden is known for her lively disposition. She feels a great deal of responsibility as a warden, and because of this, she tends to try to solve problems all by herself. She is tasked with the care of a certain lady Pokémon.
3. Race across sprawling, untamed landscapes while riding Pokémon!
Some of the special Pokémon in Hisui will lend you their aid once they accept your worthiness. During your adventure, you’ll receive a Celestica Flute. This is a mysterious instrument that has been passed down through generations of Hisui’s people. You can play the flute to summon special Pokémon wherever you might be, and they will let you ride them. Riding these Pokémon will allow you to move faster on land, cross bodies of water, or even soar through the skies. By expanding the sorts of terrain you can traverse, these Pokémon will help you more freely explore the Hisui region!
Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be available on the Nintendo Switch early next year, January 28, 2022. For more information, visit the game’s official website.
