Sejun, Josh, Justin, Ken, and Stell — collectively known as popular Filipino boy band SB19 — have had a good start to 2021. The group kickstarted the year as being new ambassadors of Lazada, joining the roster of the Lazada family with Kathryn Bernardo and Mimiyuuuh.

Short for ‘Sound Break 19,’ the Korean agency-trained SB19 made history when they landed in Billboard’s Top Social 50 Artists of 2020 in December. They also won Favorite Entertainer of the Year and Favorite Breakthrough Artist at the 2020 Aliw Awards, and their song ‘Go Up’ was announced Song of the Year at the 2020 Myx Music Awards. Despite the past year being a challenge, SB19 is flying high while keeping humble and crediting all their success to A’TIN (their fans).

In this exclusive interview, the P-pop sensation talk about working during the pandemic, their favorite Lazada finds, and more:
Question: What has been one of the challenges the group faced working in the music industry?
SB19: Sound Break. Our goal is to break the Philippine music scene, but the work doesn’t just stop with getting the attention of the public. We continuously strive to give a unique brand of music and promote our Filipino identity. It’s our long-term goal as a music artist.
Never stop going after what you want. You can take a break, but don’t give up. Your goal should be bigger than all of the challenges that you’ll encounter.
How have you been managing work amid the pandemic?
We communicate online with our team and even with our fans. If we have to go out for a shoot, we make sure to follow the safety protocols. We really miss performing live the most, especially the feeling of seeing A’TIN and hearing them cheer or sing with us. I’m sure A’TIN is feeling the same so we continuously plan and create new content for them. We also hope that the songs we are creating will somehow comfort them or inspire them to keep going.
If you could go back ten years ago and give one advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Stell: Be tough.
Sejun: Magiging mahirap ang road in the future. Tatagan mo sarili mo.
Ken: Enjoyin mo sarili mo.
Justin: Don’t waste time.
Josh: Magpabraces ka na habang maaga pa.
How does it feel to be part of the Lazada family as the new brand ambassadors of #NasaLazadaYan?
Parang nasa amin na lahat (hahaha). Pero kidding aside, we’re very thankful for this opportunity. Thanks for adding us in your cart–ay, heart pala! We’re looking forward to all of Lazada’s future plans with us.

For Valentine’s, you can also treat yourself so buy something that you need. For example, add to cart new earphones if what you have right now is not working anymore. You can also buy your sister who loves drawing some art materials which are of course available in Lazada!
