The Skechers Performance Run 2019 is back for a bigger and better run! Last August 11, 2019 Global athletic footwear and lifestyle brand Skechers held its second Skechers Performance Run at SM by the Bay, Mall of Asia Complex. Headlined by its ambassadors, celebrity athlete Gerald Anderson and Sanya Lopez, the event highlighted the brand’s slogan to “Go Like Never Before” and its mission to make a fit and active lifestyle more accessible and enjoyable for more people.
The event was presented by Takbo.ph and Leadpack. Together with Gerald and Sanya, others who participated in the run were Skechers ambassadors like Kim Manginsay and Mike Jiang and Lexi Noval who were the hosts during the event. TV personalities like Nash Aguas, Tim Yap, CJ Jaravata, Patricia Javier, Hannah Ledesma, Brent Valdez, reality teen stars Yong Muhajil, Zonia Mejia, and Thia Thomalia. Athletes and fitness enthusiast s such ash Jeff Lo of Pinoy Fitness, Jackie Go, Rubie Gynn, Beef Cuts, siblings Joanne Villablanca, Jose Villablanca, and Carla Piscoso, Marline Capones and partner Mauro Lumba, social media persanlity and vlogger, Kimpoy Feliciano also came and had fun at the run.
The Skechers Performance Run’s 5k, 10k, 21k run distances and the newest category, the 3k walkathon attracted both beginners and seasoned runners.
Excitement was palpable during run day where as early as 1:30am, some runners were already warming up at the race grounds. At the end of the event, 3 champions emerged with impressive times; Jomer Argus bested the 21k category with a chip time of 01:18:36, while Isidro Perpetula lead the 10k category in 36 mins and 11 seconds.
After completing the race, participants enjoyed a cool down session led by the Flexfit PH girls. After that, to keep the audience pumped up for the treats and prizes, the 5-time UAAP Cheerdance Competition Champion, the National University Pep Squad performed a special number for the audience. Participants also enjoyed several interactive booths and installations, exciting activities, and fabulous prizes from Skechers and its partners. The competitive and curious ones went for the Skechers Performance Treadmill Challenge where they ran their farthest distance in 30 seconds wearing the brands new Go Run 7 running collection. A special treat was given to all Skechers wearers and for all particiapants wearing Go Walk at the event where they got a pick a premium prize ranging from Skechers Performance headbands, cooling towels, sunglasses, Beep cards and more. The photo opportunities were seemingly endless as runners took turns taking snap at the finisher podium area, the stage LED screen and the giant 3D Skechers Performance logo.
In tandem with run event, Skechers Performance has just released its newest and most advanced running shoe collection to date which received rave reviews from runners who have already gotten and ran in their new pairs, as well as those who tried them on at the Skechers Performance booth that day. Similarly, Skechers also launched its newest, Go Walk 5 collection for the 3K Walkathon, which received praises from the participants and wearers.
