Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has just released a surprise song for fans titled Afterglow. This is a year after the musician announced that he’d be taking a break from work and social media.
Sheeran’s official performance video was released on his YouTube channel. Watch it below:
The musician also shared a clip of the performance on Instagram, giving us more background about the song.
“Hey guys. Afterglow is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you. It’s not the first single from the next album, it’s just a song I love, and hope you love too. Enjoy!” Sheeran wrote. “Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year’s. Back to dad land for me now, ciao x”
Last year in December, the famed singer of “Shape of You” and “Thinking Out Loud” announced that he will “take a breather to travel, write and read.” Since then, he only posted once, back in September when he and his wife Cherry Seaborn welcomed the birth of their daughter Lyra Antarctica Seaborn.
