The Pirates: Goblin Flag, the sequel to the 2014 Korean film The Pirates, is set to go in production this July! Just in time for that, Lotte Entertainment has announced the star-studded cast for the upcoming film!
The film will center on a group of people who go on a journey to find the final treasure of the Goryeo royal family which disappeared when Joseon replaced the kingdom.
The sequel will be led by Kang Haneul, who’ll be playing Woo Moo Chi, leader of the righteous army and known to be Goryeo’s swordsman. Alongside him are Han Hyo Joo’s Hae Rang, the pirate captain; Lee Kwang Soo’s Mak Yi; and Kwon Sang Woo’s Boo Heung Soo.
EXO’s Sehun will be playing the archer pirate Han Goong, while Chae Soo Bin will be playing So Nyeo. Other stars who’ll be starring in the film are Kim Sung Oh and Park Ji Hwan.
The Pirates, released in 2014, is about a group of bandits led by Jang Sa Jung who go out to the sea to search and bring back the Ming Emperor’s Seal of State in exchange for a big reward. An adventure begins when Sa Jung’s ship clashes with Yeo Wol’s. The film stars Son Ye Jin and Kim Nam Gil.
No information has been announced yet regarding the film’s premiere date.
