Spotify Rounds Up the Songs Users Listened to in Quarantine

Based on Spotify data pulled between April 17-May 17, listeners are soundtracking activities from gardening to homeschooling to painting to dyeing their hair. And letā€™s not forget cleaning: weā€™ve seen a more than 40% increase in listeners around the world creating playlists to enthusiastically clean their homes to (and not-so-enthusiastically, based on TLCā€™s ā€œNo Scrubsā€ being a popular song choice in these playlists).

For Filipinos in particular, popular song additions to ā€œcleaningā€ themed playlists include ā€œShake It Offā€ by Taylor Swift, ā€œParty in the U.S.A.ā€ by Miley Cyrus, ā€œthank u, nextā€ by Ariana Grande, ā€œIDGAFā€ by Dua Lipa, and ā€œShut Up and Danceā€ by WALK THE MOON.

Listeners may also be in search of learning new craft skills: weā€™ve seen a 125% increase in streaming of the podcast ā€œJust Wanna Quiltā€ and a more than 60% increase in the podcast ā€œWeCrochet.ā€ Let creativity soar!

Hereā€™s a round-up of some of the trends weā€™re seeing. Youā€™ll also find the stats HERE on Spotifyā€™s blog, For the Record:
