Disney has just released the first trailer for Encanto, a new animated musical film that will feature songs from Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. Set in a magical village in Colombia, the movie will introduce a family whose members all have magical powers, except for the young lady Mirabel.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of Casa Madrigal, a magical home where the magical Madrigals reside. Each member of the Madrigal family possesses a certain power. As seen in the trailer, one Madrigal has super strength, another one has shapeshifting abilities, and even a small kid can communicate with all sorts of animals.
However, there is also Mirabel, an ordinary 15-year-old girl who’s struggling to find her place in the family. Stephanie Beatriz who voices Mirabel describes her as “a really funny, loving character who also deeply yearns for something more. She’s also not afraid to stand up for what she knows is right—something I love and relate to very much.”
Encanto is directed by Jared Bush, Byron Howard, and Charise Castro Smith. It is set to be released in US theaters on November 24.
