Lights are almost up in Washington Heights as HBO MAX released the first 8 minutes of the upcoming film, In the Heights! It’s the film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical of the same name and stars Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Leslie Grace, Gregory Diaz, Marc Anthony, and more.
The 8-minute clip features “In the Heights,” which introduces us to Usnavi, the film’s main character, as well as the other people living in Washington Heights.

In the Heights takes place in Washington Heights, a Latino neighborhood in New York. It centers on its residents, all who have their own stories to tell and dreams they want to achieve. The film also highlights how these people come together to celebrate their success and mourn their defeats.
The film, which is based on the original musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda, comes from the Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu, with a screenplay by Quiara Alegría Hudes. Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Leslie Grace, Gregory Diaz, Marc Anthony, and more star in this film.
