One of Japan’s most popular mecha franchises, Gundam, is getting a live-action film and it’s heading to Netflix!
It was back in 2018 when the project from Legendary Pictures and Sunrise was first announced. Now, Netflix has revealed that the film is going straight to the streaming platform, and it will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts.

Vogt-Roberts is not new to films that feature epic, gargantuan battles. He is also known for his work on Kong: Skull Island, the second entry to Legendary’s MonsterVerse, which is the shared movie universe of King Kong, Godzilla, and other iconic kaiju.
