5 Reasons Why ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ is a Must-Watch For Every Disney Fan

So for the eagerly-waiting Disney fans, this has got to be the must-watch film for them this year, and we're giving you five reasons why!

Six years after Wreck-It Ralph opened in cinemas, Ralph and Vanellope are returning once again to the big screen for Ralph Breaks the Internet!

This time, they will be leaving Litwak's video arcade and will be venturing into the uncharted world of the internet where Vanellope must search for a replacement part for her video game, Sugar Rush. There, they would have to rely on the Netizens to help them go on their way.

Aside from the long break between the first and the second film, Ralph Breaks the Internet will also be the first film from Walt Disney Pictures in two years after Moana. So for the eagerly-waiting Disney fans, this has got to be the must-watch film for them this year, and here are 5 reasons why:

1. Our favorite Wreck-It Ralph characters will be returning!

Joining Ralph and Vanellope in their internet adventure is Fix-It Felix Jr. (voiced by Jack McBrayer), who takes on the role of being Niceland's resident handyman in the 8-bit video game "Fix-It Felix Jr.". Aside from Felix, though, the film's Head of Story Josie Trinidad, in our interview with her, teased that fans should be excited to see some of the old characters from the arcade make an appearance in the film.

2. The film will also be introducing new characters that fans of Wreck-It Ralph will surely come to love.

As our favorite characters go on their adventure to a place as uncharted as the World Wide Web, they encounter a new set of characters who will be helping them in their journey! Some of the ones to watch out for include: Yesss – an algorithm who heads a streaming website called BuzzzTube; Shank – a netizen from an online racing game called "Slaughter Race; KnowsMore – a know-it-all netizen powering up a search engine; and Double Dan – an apothecary's overlord made of spam. These characters are voiced by Taraji P. Henson, Gal Gadot, Alan Tudyk, and Alfred Molina, respectively.

3. The Disney Princesses (who we've already seen in the trailer!) will be returning.

From the trailer alone, we already know that Ariel, Elsa, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Moana, and the rest of the Disney Princesses will be making an appearance in Ralph Breaks the Internet. However, according to Josie Trinidad, their role in the film is more than just a simple cameo! "The Disney Princesses are there for a reason. They're there to help our characters on their journey, so you might find that they play a bigger role later on in the movie," she said.

To make sure that the Disney Princesses will stay true to the original material, the voice cast, which includes Jodi Benson, Idina Menzel, Mandy Moore, Jennifer Hale, and Auli'i Cravalho. The film's creative team also consulted with the original filmmakers and rewatched the film to make sure that they're portrayed as faithful as possible.

4. The ultimate Disney fans will also be able to see a quick glimpse of the other Disney franchises.

In the most meta way possible, Ralph Breaks the Internet treats Disney fans with cameos from all the other Disney franchises. Those who have a quick eye will be able to catch Buzz Lightyear, Baymax, the Stormtroopers, and Eeyore from the trailer alone! Viewers also get to spot the logos of Oh My Disney, The Muppet Show, Marvel, Cars, Star Wars, Pixar, and Disney Animation. However, whether these companies and/or characters will be playing a bigger role in the film is something that you should definitely anticipate!

5. Alan Menken wrote a song for the film.

Alan Menken is known for being the mind behind the score and songs of some of the Disney Renaissance films – The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, and Tangled, to name a few. For Ralph Breaks the Internet, he worked on a song called "A Place Called Slaughter Race", sung by Sarah Silverman and Gal Gadot. It serves as the film's "I Want Song", or the song that expresses the lead's deepest desire and goal throughout the film.

Imagine Dragons and Julia Michaels also worked on two of the film's soundtrack – "Zero" and "In This Place".

Ralph Breaks the Internet is now showing in Philippine cinemas. You may check out this page for the complete schedule.
