Multi-Awarded Drama Film From Spain Streams Free This Weekend

The film has won five Goya Awards including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay.

This weekend Instituto Cervantes invites to enjoy for FREE another Spanish memorable film:Ā La Buena EstrellaĀ (Lucky Star).

Directed by Ricardo Franco in 1997, this intense drama received five Goya Awards —Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay among them.Ā It revolves the toxic relationship between a woman and two opposite men.Ā 

La Buena EstrellaĀ stands out for the superb interpretation ofĀ the three leads: Antonio Resines, Jordi MollĆ” and Maribel VerdĆŗ. Resines won for his rendition of a kind person the Goya Award as best actor over Jordi MollĆ”, also nominated. The female role of the triangle is played by Maribel VerdĆŗ,Ā a very popular Spanish actress known internationally for the filmsĀ AmantesĀ (Vicente Aranda, 1991),Ā Y tu mamĆ” tambiĆ©nĀ (Alfonso CuarĆ³n, 2001), andĀ Panā€™s LabyrinthĀ (Guillermo del Toro, 2006).Ā La Buena EstrellaĀ represents VerdĆŗ’s artistic culmen, and she was nominated for her role in this film as a leading actress in the Goya Awards.Ā
