Watch the trailer below:
Director Robert Eggers made his feature-film debut in 2016 with the horror film The Witch, an unnerving tale of a colonial family's paranoia after rumors of a witch living in the nearby woods. This year, The Lighthouse has already premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and will get an October 18 release in theaters.
The film revolves around two lighthouse keepers in a desolate island in 1980s New England. The solitude soon throws the two into a series of struggles with their sanity and loneliness, magnified by the fact that one of them could be hiding a dark secret.
The film is produced by A24, the studio behind films like Moonlight, Lady Bird, The Witch, Eighth Grade, Hereditary, Midsommar, and more.
The official release for The Lighthouse is on October 18, 2019. For more information, visit their social media pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
