As its first offering for the year, Solar Pictures will be featuring romantic-comedy-drama film Comet, starring Golden Globe nominee Emmy Rossum (“The Day After Tomorrow,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Mystic River”) and Justin Long (“Live Free or Die Hard,” “He’s Just Not That Into You”).
In Comet, Justin Long and Emmy Rossum are star-crossed lovers whose relationship blooms and unravels over the course of six years in this mysterious, dazzlingly original romance. When a chance encounter brings together the cynical Dell (Long) and the quick-witted Kimberly (Rossum), the stage is set for a tempestuous love affair that unfolds like a puzzle. As the film zigzags back and forth in time, from a meteor shower in LA, to an encounter in a Paris hotel room, to a fateful phone call; an unforgettable portrait of a relationship emerges. Sumptuously shot and boasting incredible chemistry between the leads, Comet is a one-of-a-kind cosmic love story.
Content Media introduced and screened the film to international distributors for the first time at the2014 American Film Market (AFM) last November which was then picked up by Solar Pictures, among other films. “The universal theme and inventive storytelling in ‘Comet’ have us believing that audiences will really connect with the film,” said Content Media President of Film Jamie Carmichael. “We were drawn in immediately and are happy to have this film.”
Directed and written by Sam Esmail, Comet will be shown in Philippine theaters this February.
