The Curse of La Llorona 
Premieres on: May 1 

Set in 1973 Los Angeles, The Curse of La Llorona follows a social worker and her two kids who work with a priest practicing mysticism to escape the wrath of La Llorona. The story is based on the Mexican folklore of The Weeping Woman who cries while looking for her lost children. The film is directed by Michael Chaves and stars Linda Cardellini, Raymond Cruz, Patricia Velasquez, and more. 

Maledicto
Premieres on: May 1

Mark Meily directs Maledicto, a film which centers on a psychologist who becomes a skeptical exorcist after the tragic death of his sister/ When he meets Sister Barbie with a gift of charism, the two work together to work on the case of a teenager who's manifesting demonic behavior. Tom Rodriguez, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Miles Ocampo star in the film.

After is based on a novel of the same name, and centers on Tessa Young, a dedicated student who has her life figured out already. However, when she enters her first semester of college, she meets brooding and rebellious Harden Scott who makes her question everything she knew about herself and what she wants in life. It stars Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, Josephine Langford, Pia Mia, Selma Blair, and more. 

Detective Pikachu
Premieres on: May 9

Detective Pikachu is based on a video game of the same name, and centers on Tim Goodman, a detective's son who meets Detective Pikachu after his dad disappears in a car crash. Knowing that he's the only one who can hear Detective Pikachu speak, the two teams up to solve the mysteries in the city. Ryan Reynolds, Justice Smith, and Kathryn Newton are just some of the stars lending their voices for the film. 

Kuwaresma
Premieres on: May 15

A horror film which stars Sharon Cuneta and John Arcilla, Kuwaresma is about a family that's haunted by the ghost of their youngest daughter. It's directed by Erik Matti. 

John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum
Premieres on: May 16 

Parabellum is the third installment of the John Wick franchise and will continue to follow the titular character who now has a $14 million price tag on his head. A target to bounty hunters and assassins, Wick must fight his way out of New York with the help of a hitwoman. It stars Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane, and more. 

The Sun is Also A Star
Premieres on:
May 16

The Sun is Also A Star is based on a young-adult novel of the same name, centering on a college-bound romantic and a Jamaican-born pragmatist who falls for each other on one magical day. Yara Shahidi and Charles Melton star in this modern-day story of finding love against all the odds. 

Godzilla: King of the Monsters
Premieres on: May 30 

Godzilla: King of the Monsters follows the members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch who are about to face god-sized monsters like Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, and the three-headed King Ghidorah. The cast includes Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Zhang Ziyi, Sally Hawkins, and more.
