Ready Player One takes place in the year 2045, where the world is on the brink of chaos and collapse. There is one way the people have escaped all the madness — finding salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance), a mad genius (and a bit of a social outcast) with an obsession for '80s pop culture. When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into an exciting treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.
Warner Bros. Pictures just released the first official trailer 1 of Ready Player One and now long-time fans of the book now get a better look into the OASIS–that is, until the film is released in March 2018. And even more good news is that the author himself revealed recently through a Facebook livestream that he is already working on a sequel!
