What happens when a picture-perfect 1950s suburb is shaken up?
Premiered in the main competition section of the 74th Venice International Film Festival in September 2017, crime-comedy film Suburbicon was also screened at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival before it was officially released in the United States on October.
The film is set in the 1950s and focuses on Gardner Lodge, a mild-mannered man whose home is broken into by two robbers. His entire family is tied up by the robbers and kills his wife, Rose. Tension in their peaceful and all-white neighborhood mounts up when an Africa-American family moves.
