Megaworld Lifestyle Malls invites all movie-lovers to witness another inspiring tale of heroism and true love this September as it brings to the big-screen The Railway Man.

The British-Australian war film featuring a powerhouse cast that includes Jeremy Irvine, Stellan Skarsgård and Academy Award winners Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman will be shown exclusively at the world-class and state-of-the-art cinemas of Eastwood City, Lucky Chinatown and Newport Mall at Resorts World Manila beginning September 24.

Directed by Jonathan Teplitzky (Gettin’ Square and Burning Man) and co-written by the award-winning British novelist and screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce, The Railway Man is based on the bestselling autobiography of the same name by Eric Lomax.

Shot mostly in Scotland, the film offers a realistic yet touching portrayal of the horrifying ordeal of Eric Lomax (Firth), a former British Army officer who was tortured at a Japanese prisoner of war camp during World War II.

Still hunted by his terrifying wartime experiences decades later, Lomax together with his wife (Kidman) and best friend Finlay (Skarsgård), set out on a journey to go after one of his captors who had escaped prosecution as a war criminal. As he confronts his tormentor, Lomax finally buries the ghosts of his tormented past and rediscovers his life.
