HOW IT ALL STARTED
In Manhattan in 1965, there was no place where people could go out to meet friends and make new ones in an environment that was at once both relaxed and yet exciting. Then, Alan Stillman opened Fridays as a way, he said, “to meet Pan Am stewardesses.” Suddenly, there was a place with great food, new and exciting drinks and an electric energy. A place where bartenders mixed the environment just as well as they mixed drinks. In short, a place like nowhere else. Today, Fridays is still America’s most iconic restaurant.
As The Bistro Group’s flagship brand, TGIFridays immediately made an impression when it opened at Gloreitta 3 in 1994. This fresh approach to casual dining did not go unnoticed; hungry guests came pouring in, its unprecedented guest count garnered for the restaurant several awards including Highest Weekly Guest Count in 1998; Highest Annual Guest Count in 1999; Highest Annual Guest Counts, International in 2001; and WOW Award between 2003 and 2004.
Today, there are 20 TGIFRidays restaurants located in Metro Manila and in key cities and provinces.
