Itās a purple day for some of our front liners. McDonaldās Philippines, through its charity of choice, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), kicked off its much-awaited BTS Meal in the Philippines with health care workers enjoying the first taste of the limited-edition offering.
Two days before its official launch on June 18 in the country, over 2,000 BTS Meals were distributed to select hospitals and vaccination hubs, through McDonaldās Kindness Kitchen.
āOur medical frontliners have been working tirelessly to keep everyone safe throughout the pandemic. With the launch of the BTS Meal and the overwhelming support McDonaldās is getting from the public, we want them to be the first to enjoy the BTS Meal,ā said McDonaldās Philippines President & CEO Kenneth S. Yang.
Filled with excitement upon receiving the treat, a beneficiary from Air Force General Hospital shared how McDonaldās, through RMHC has always been supportive of them, especially throughout the pandemic. āTuwang-tuwa po kami kasi hindi po nakakalimot ang McDo [Kindness Kitchen]. Ever since last year until this year, walang sawa sila sa pag consider sa amin [sa meal distribution]. Very privileged kami nauna sa BTS meal.ā
Packed with 10-piece Chicken McNuggetsĀ®, medium World Famous FriesĀ®, medium Coca-Cola, and Sweet Chili and Cajun sauces inspired by popular recipes from McDonaldās South Korea, this McDonaldās treat will also be made available to the general public on Friday, June 18 in all stores nationwide.
āWe hope that this simple surprise for our medical frontliners, will give some encouragement and cheer, reminding them that we [McDonaldās] are here to support them as they continue to fight COVID-19 every day, protecting and keeping us safe,ā Yang concluded.
