A returning flavor from Sebastian’s Ice Cream’s Christmas collection is Puto Bumbong (P135/scoop; P405/pint). It is kakanin ice cream made with malagkit rice, margarine, and muscovado sugar, served with grated coconut and more muscovado sugar. It is their first kakanin flavor and is back once again for its popularity amongst its customers.

Aside from their fried chicken, Max’s is known for its Corner Bakery. The Filipino restaurant has recently rolled out two timeless Christmas treats the whole family will surely enjoy. Their Puto Bumbong Cheesecake (P318) has an ube-flavored kakanin and cheesecake combination, topped with crumbled ube, desiccated coconut, and muscovado sugar.

Known for their avocado pastries, Lia’s Cakes in Season also make seasonal treats like their Puto Bumbong Cake (P480/mini; P1,680/full size) which makes for the perfect centerpiece to any spread. It is a moist ube cake drizzled with their blend of coco-muscovado sauce, a sprinkling of muscovado sugar, and desiccated coconut topping.

The restaurant has been serving Filipino dishes since 1975 so they cannot not be on the list. Their Puto Bumbong (P125/plain; P155/cheddar; P165/quezo de bola) is served fresh and hot with a side of muscovado sugar, and shredded coconuts. Titas and titas-at-heart love this!
