Born out of love for Hainanese Chicken and Steak by its resident chef, Ferdie Agustin, Hai Chix & Steaks opens its third branch in Makati. A restaurant which houses two crowd favorites – chicken and steak – has been in the business for four years now and its first ever outlet is still at its original location. Their menu is pretty straightforward with a variety of Western and Asian dishes all under one roof.
They're currently on their soft opening stage at this newly opened outlet which can seat up to forty hungry customers. Here are five must-try items on the menu when you plan on grabbing lunch or if you want to have dinner and wait out the dreadful Makati traffic:
Make your day a little brighter and start your meal with the Butter Garlic Shrimp (P295) which has a generous serving of plump shrimp smothered in butter and garlic sauce. Don't forget to wipe the dish clean with the crisp bread that comes with it! Consider on ordering their Fish & Chips (P295) that's crisp on the outside but soft and flaky on the inside. Dip it in the honey mustard or some old-fashioned catsup for additional flavor. We hear that the Curry Laksa is also a must-try!
A quick lunch out? Gather your workmates since almost all their dishes are great for sharing. Check out their pasta lineup with currently having three kinds of pasta – Shrimp in Balsamic Vinaigrette, Hanger Steak & Shrimp and the best-seller, Manila Clams (P295).
The restaurant's staple dishes with them being the name are the classic Hainanese Chicken Rice (P280) which comes with three sauces topped with bits of crunchy chicken skin and the US Angus Ribeye (P2750/650g; P1460/330g) that's definitely good for more than two people – comes with two cups of steak rice and a cup of buttered corn. At Hai Chix & Steak, nothing goes to waste! You'll notice toasted fat trimmings on top of the slab which gives out the complete experience.
Hai Chix & Steaks is now open at Valero Access Road 4, Makati, Metro Manila. They're open from Mondays to Saturdays (11am to 3pm and 5pm to 10pm) and closed on Sundays. Other branches are at Ortigas Home Depot Center and 2/F 6 Missouri St., Greenhills, San Juan. Like them on Facebook and follow them on Instagram for more updates.
