About the Event
Creative Image Foundation (CIF) was founded by Mr. Toshihiko Uriu with the intention od helping the communities of Payatas and Smokey Mountain. In the trecent years, the foundation have been working towards helping the children of the communities bring out and develop their artistic talents through various workshops.
CIF in cooperation with Tosh Entertainment presents: "Repablik Ak" - a new play by the Producer of The Aliw Awards winner "BAKATA: Battle of the Streets Poets" notable film maker Toshihiko Uriu and Directed by Pio Balbuena. Crafted to showcase the artistic talents of the CIF children and to raise awareness on Republic Act 9165 (Drug Act) and 9028 (Human Trafficking Act) that have taken hold of the country. The Play features: Princess Regine Hontucan plays Alma, the eldest in the family - pimp forced to work in a harsh industry to provide for her whole family. Brenan Callueng plays Lito, the youngest in the family - child dragged into a bad crowd. And Andrew Lagsa plays the role of Cesar, the middle child - a drunkard and a lout.
