Broadway musical West Side Story is currently playing at The Theatre at Solaire in Pasay for their Manila season! The show will be running for three weeks, from August 10 to 27, 2017.
Inspired by William Shakespeare's classic Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story tells the story of two rival gangs – the Jets and the Sharks . Amidst the clashes between the two groups, a romance between a Jet named Tony (Kevin Hack) and a Shark named Maria (Jenna Burns) is formed.
The musical, which has been produced thrice on Broadway and twice in London's West End, features the music of Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. It will also be recreating the choreography of Jerome Robbins from the original production, headed by the director and choreographer Joey McKneely.
