One of Tom Cruise's breakthrough films in Hollywood is now getting a sequel after 34 years, with Tom reprising his role as fighter jet pilot Pete "Maverick" Mitchell.
Top Gun Maverick reveals its first trailer, with Maverick now a Top Gun flight instructor mentoring a new generation of US Navy fighter pilots. The trailer already teases some fighter jets scenes that is sure to excite Tom Cruise fans.

The first Top Gun film was released in 1986. It is an action drama flick that revolves around the once reckless Maverick in his years at the Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School, competing to be the next top fighter pilot. This time around, we're forwarded to 40 years later, with Maverick as an instructor.
The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski, with stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, and Val Kilmer reprising the role of Iceman, alongside Tom Cruise. It is set for a 2020 release.
