The Netflix sci-fi series Altered Carbon is getting an anime spin-off to explore the mythology further!
Set in the same universe as the live-action series, Altered Carbon: Resleeved follows Takeshi Kovacs who must protect a tattoo artist while uncovering the truth behind the death of a yakuza boss. Check out the film's trailer below:
If you are not familiar with the original series, which is now on season 2 starring Anthony Mackie, Altered Carbon is an on-going Netflix series based on the novel of Richard K. Morgan. It is set in a future where death is no longer permanent as humans can now move from one body to another, thanks to technology. It follows the convicted criminal Takeshi Kovacs who wakes up in a new body after 250 years. He is then hired by the rich Laurens Bancroft who promises him wealth and freedom if he could solve the man's own murder.
Altered Carbon: Resleeved comes from the creative mind of writer Dai Sato who also worked on Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex. It is directed by Jo Nakajima and stars the voices of Tatsuhisa Suzuki, Rina Satou, and Ayaka Asai.
