From Pixar and writer-director Pete Docter, the same creative mind behind iconic Pixar films like Monsters Inc., Up, and Inside Out, comes a new film that asks the difficult questions of life.
A new trailer has been released for Soul, a story that tackles the afterlife through the lens of an animated film for all ages. If Inside Out gave the young ones a better understanding on how their own emotions can get more complicated through time, Soul looks like it will be giving the important life lessons in this life that is limited by time.
Check out Soul's new trailer below:
The film follows Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher who, at the best day of his life, makes a small misstep in the street that hurls his soul into the path to the afterlife. Determined to continue his life, Joe makes a desperate escape that takes him to The Great Before – the place where new souls get their personalities, interests, and quirks before they are sent to Earth. Here he meets 22, a precocious soul who doesn't want anything to do with Earth. With 22's help, Joe tries to find his way back to his body while discovering the answers to some of life's most important questions.
Soul stars the voices of Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Phylicia Rashad, Angela Bassett, Ahmir Questlove Thompson, and Daveed Diggs. It is set for a US release on June 19, 2020. For more information and updates, follow the film's social media pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
