A very engaging story unfolds as Sumimura Yoshimori, a 14-year-old junior high school boy, lives up to being the dependable descendant of Kekkaishi, or the monster eliminator. His childhood friend Yumikura Tokine who is older than him happens to be his rival Kekkaishi, as they both vye for the heir to the family. In order to protect the people from various crises and to make himself much stronger, Yoshimori continuously battles the evil monsters with full force.
