Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes embroiled in a Road War between a group of rebels fleeing across the Wasteland and their ruthless Citadel pursuers, from whom they have stolen something valuable.

Directed by Oscar-winning director George Miller, the mastermind behind the original Mad Max franchise, this fourth instalment swept six awards at the 88th Academy Awards this year. Tom Hardy, Oscar-winner Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult star.

In a post-apocalyptic world, a family of three takes refuge at a bomb shelter, staying hidden from whatever that lurks beneath the ground to avoid something terrifying and strange that threatens their fragile existence, and is coming for them.

This horror sci-fi movie stars True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard, Andrea Riseborough and Emily Alyn Lind.

MAVERICK

Premieres Friday, August 19 at 10pm on RED by HBO

Starring Chris Wang and Jian Man-Shu, this police drama follows an idealistic and righteous police officer who is confronted by the unspoken rules on his first operation. After being sidelined for investigating “forbidden” cases, can he stand idly by or will he continue to probe further for the truth?

Maverick is the second instalment of director Cheng Wen-Tang’s trilogy of transitional justice. Cheng won Best Director at the 12th Taipei Film Festival for the first instalment.
